Video Projects

This page has some of the video projects I’ve worked on. These videos include aren’t related to many of the projects I’ve worked on but do include examples of video editing and animation.

Mister Vision: This animation was about my struggles dealing with intrusive thoughts, which is when my mind tends to fixate on thoughts that are negative and often inappropriate, even when I don’t want to. It stars my dragon persona in a fictional version of my dorm room before moving on events happening in my head. My real life self comes into this, being tormented Mister Vision, a TV-headed figure who is the personification of my intrusive thoughts. This animation was a final for my animation class (the same class where I made Drawing Dragons and The Masquerade). A rendering glitch with Photoshop made me have to submit a slightly unfinished version for the class, and I tried my best to implement more sounds and improved voicelines in the over winter break as well as the following semester. The version here is the most up to date version I have of this animation, and I don’t really know if I’m willing to go through the stress of adding more to it. As for the live-action scenes, I shot those on my phone, and then converted the video files to mp4 using HandBrake. The video itself was put together using After Effects.
Interrogation_10-13-93: Inspired by the VHS recordings from mascot horror game, Poppy Playtime, this video was made for an assignment that involved point-of-view. The video was recorded using OBS Studio, and with an external camera that was plugged into my computer. For the voice of the agent, I recorded the lines separately on audacity and changed the pitch to try to mask my voice. The VHS effect was done in Premiere Pro using an adjustment layer that had a lumetri color, channel blur, wave warp, and noise effects added to it.
The Masquerade: An animatic based off a moment from my personal project, Dragon’s Blood. I was tasked with making an animation where the location was a major focus, almost as if it was its own character. It was animated entirely in Adobe Photoshop and put together in After Effects. All of the voice acting was done by me, which was recorded in Audacity.
Time Painting: For this video, I had to pick a prompt from the book Grapefruit, the prompt I chose involved making a painting whose colors come out under a certain kind of light at a certain time of day. The video was edited in Premiere Pro, where I had to frequently speed up clips.
Static: This was another video project I worked on that was inspired by the horror game, In Sound Mind. I had to record a video, strip away all the sound within, and replace it with new ones. The static blot and the figure were I animated myself in Adobe Photoshop, and I had to go into premiere and tweak their positions to make sure they weren’t floating in mid-air or cut-off. I also used blurry transitions and fades to black to make it look like the person was losing consciousness. I also utilized the static effect for this animation.
Drawing Dragons: This animation tells of my personal connection with dragons, and how their part of my identity as an artist and animator. The animation itself was made in Adobe Photoshop. The sketches of the three dragons were made in my sketchbook and scanned into my computer, the rest of the animation was drawn digitally on my drawing tablet. The narration I voiced myself and I recorded in Audacity. The final video was put together in After Effects, which I usually use for animated projects like this one.
Still Life: This video project involved having to make a video involving a still life. So I chose to make a video of me drawing a street lamp, with a still life progressively forming including the pencils and pens I was using. The video itself was recorded on my phone, and the final product was made in Premiere Pro. Two cut the video down without interrupting the flow of it, I used simple fade transitions as each part still life appears on-screen.
